From Zero to Cited: How Haque & Sons Ltd Appeared in Google AI Overview, Gemini, and ChatGPT in Under Two Months

Most SEO results take months to show up because Google’s traditional index moves slowly and trust has to be earned link by link. AI-powered search works differently. When a site’s content is structured clearly enough for a language model to extract facts from, that content can start getting cited far faster than it could ever rank in classic organic results.

Haque & Sons Ltd, a crew management and shipping company based in Chittagong, is the clearest example of this we have worked on. Active GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) work began in August 2026. By September 2026, the company was being named directly by Google’s AI Overview, cited by Gemini, and referenced by ChatGPT for competitive searches like “best crew management company in Bangladesh” and “largest crew agency in Bangladesh.” Google Search Console’s own Generative AI features report backs this up with real impression data, not just screenshots.

This case study walks through exactly what changed, what the data shows, and where the limits of this kind of result actually are, because a case study in this niche is worth nothing if it overclaims.

Who Is Haque & Sons Ltd?

Haque & Sons Ltd is a crew management and shipping agency headquartered in Chittagong, Bangladesh, with maritime operations dating to 1972. The company manages a certified seafarer pool of more than 4,500 STCW-certified seafarers and supports more than 240 vessels globally. This is a B2B maritime services company, not a consumer brand, which matters for how we read these results. Search volume in this niche is small and specialized. A handful of decision-makers searching for a crew management partner is worth more here than thousands of casual visitors would be on a consumer site.

The Starting Point

Earlier in 2026, Khan IT completed a full content architecture rebuild for haqsons.com, covering 18 service and company pages including Crew Management, Maritime Academy, BMTI, Ship Agency, Port Agency, Freight Forwarding, and Vessel Sales. Part of that work resolved keyword cannibalization between the Ship Agency and Port Agency pages, which had been competing against each other in search instead of each ranking for its own intent.

That content foundation existed before the specific AI search optimization push began. It matters here because GEO does not create facts out of nothing. It structures facts that already exist so an AI system can find, trust, and quote them. Without the earlier content rebuild, there would have been nothing solid for an AI Overview or a Gemini response to pull from.

Google Search Console’s Generative AI features report for haqsons.com shows the real starting line. Before August 13, 2026, daily impressions in Google’s AI-powered search surfaces sat flat at zero. Not low. Zero.

What We Did in August and September

Structured key facts for extraction. The specific numbers that now appear inside AI Overview and Gemini responses, the 1972 founding date, the 240+ vessel count, the 4,500+ certified seafarer pool, were already on the site from the earlier content build. During this phase, that information was tightened and clarified so it reads as a direct, unambiguous fact rather than something buried in marketing language.

Entity clarity across pages. Crew management, ship agency, and port agency are related but distinct services, and keeping that distinction clear helps both traditional search and AI systems understand exactly what Haque & Sons does and does not offer.

Ongoing technical and on-page SEO. The site’s technical health and on-page structure were maintained and refined through this period, since a technically clean site is easier for both Google’s crawlers and AI retrieval systems to read correctly.

The Results: What Google, Gemini, and ChatGPT Actually Say

Google AI Overview

For the search “largest crew agency in Bangladesh,” Google’s AI Overview states plainly: “Haque & Sons Ltd. is recognized as the largest crew manning and shipping agency in Bangladesh.” The same overview lists the founding year, seafarer pool, and vessel count pulled directly from the site. Haque & Sons also holds the top organic result and a knowledge panel-style entry alongside the AI Overview for this query.

For the broader search “crew manning company bangladesh,” Google’s AI Overview lists Haque & Sons Ltd first among several established companies, alongside Forazi Shipping Ltd, and again pulls the 240+ vessel and 4,500+ seafarer figures directly into the answer.

Gemini

Asked “best crew management company in Bangladesh,” Gemini’s response lists Haque & Sons Ltd first among several agencies, describing it as “widely recognized as Bangladesh’s largest and most prominent crew management firm,” citing its extensive shipowner network and training facilities.

ChatGPT

For the same query, ChatGPT declines to crown a single “best” company, which is the more common and honest pattern for this kind of subjective query, but lists Haque & Sons Ltd first among the established options it names, with a direct citation link and the specific 240+ vessel and 4,500+ seafarer figures included.

Google Search Console: Real Impressions, Not Just Screenshots

Screenshots of AI answers can be a moment in time. Search Console’s Generative AI features report is the more durable proof, because it tracks actual impressions inside Google’s AI surfaces over time.

MetricBefore Aug 13, 2026By Sep 27, 2026
Daily AI-surface impressions020 to 55 per day (variable)
Total AI-surface impressions (rolling period)01,580
Pages receiving AI-surface impressions03 (homepage, crew-change port guide, seafarers-feedback)

The homepage accounts for the large majority of that volume, with the two supporting pages picking up a smaller number of impressions each. This is consistent with how GEO tends to work in a specialized niche: one strong, fact-dense page carries most of the visibility, and supporting pages pick up the more specific, long-tail queries around it.

What This Result Does Not Mean

A case study in this space is only useful if it is honest about its limits, and there are real ones here.

AI assistant responses are not fixed rankings. ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overview can phrase answers differently between sessions, and a response captured today is not guaranteed to appear identically next week. The screenshots in this case study are verified, real responses captured during the campaign period, not a permanent ranking position.

Being named in an AI Overview or a Gemini response also does not carry the same click-through behavior as a traditional blue link. Some AI-surface impressions convert into a click to the site. Many satisfy the searcher’s question without a click at all. The 1,580 impressions figure measures visibility, not confirmed website visits, and we are not going to conflate the two.

What this result does show clearly is that a site with a well-structured content foundation can start appearing inside AI-generated answers in a matter of weeks, not the six to twelve months typically needed for competitive traditional keyword rankings. For a B2B company where even a small number of qualified inquiries matters, that speed has real value.

What This Means for B2B and Niche Companies in Bangladesh

Most businesses assume AI search visibility is reserved for large, consumer-facing brands with huge content libraries. Haque & Sons Ltd is a specialized maritime B2B company with a comparatively small site, and it is already being cited by name across three major AI platforms. What made the difference was not size. It was having specific, verifiable facts (a founding date, a fleet count, a certified seafarer number) written clearly enough for an AI system to lift them with confidence.

If your business has real numbers and real credentials but they are buried in vague marketing copy, this is very likely the same gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can two months of SEO really produce results like this?

For traditional organic rankings on competitive terms, two months is fast, and results that quick would usually be treated with suspicion. AI search visibility works on a different timeline because it depends on content clarity rather than accumulated domain trust, which is why a well-structured site can be cited inside AI answers well before it would climb to page one of classic search results for the same terms.

What is GEO and how is it different from regular SEO?

GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, is the practice of structuring content so AI systems like Google AI Overview, Gemini, and ChatGPT can extract and cite it accurately. Traditional SEO focuses on ranking a page in a list of links. GEO focuses on making specific facts easy for a language model to find, trust, and quote directly in its answer.

Does an AI Overview citation guarantee more website traffic?

Not directly, and we are not going to claim otherwise. Some AI-surface impressions lead to a click. Many answer the user’s question without one. What a citation does reliably deliver is brand visibility and credibility at the exact moment someone is researching a decision, which has value even before it shows up as a session in GA4.

Will Haque & Sons stay cited by these AI platforms permanently?

No AI platform guarantees a permanent citation. Responses can change as models update and as competitors improve their own content. What keeps a citation in place is the same thing that earned it: maintaining clear, accurate, well-structured facts on the site on an ongoing basis, not a one-time fix.

Can a small or niche B2B company realistically compete for AI search visibility?

Yes, and this case study is direct proof of it. Haque & Sons Ltd is a specialized maritime services company with a modest site by consumer-industry standards. It was cited ahead of competitors because its facts were clear and verifiable, not because it had a larger content library or bigger marketing budget.

Work With Md Faruk Khan

Haque & Sons Ltd did not get cited by Google, Gemini, and ChatGPT because of size or budget. It got cited because two months of focused work turned facts that already existed into something an AI system could confidently quote.
